Aesthetic dental medicine

Veneers, full ceramic crowns and bridges, fillings

With the improvement of functions that is achieved through our everyday work, one of the main goals we inspire to is the improvement of patient’s looks. To achieve the best aesthetic results, a good analysis, model making, imaging and good assessment are important. All of this can be achieved along with constant optimization of aesthetic requirements as the therapy advances.

What are the consequences of teeth loss and why is it important to replace the missing teeth?

Dental prosthetics

The function and aesthetics in natural healthy mouth are interconnected and cannot do one without the other. We aim to achieve the same with dental implants. It is not enough the prosthesis is just beautiful; it must also be firm and functional to withstand long chewing cycles. On the other hand, the aesthetic criteria have risen, along with the need for artificial teeth to look as nice as natural ones.

The prostheses made in a dental laboratory guarantee a maximal functionality and aesthetics.

With the joint efforts of our dentists and dental technicians, we make prostheses adjusted to every patient. By opening a dental laboratory within our office, we achieved a continuous exchange of information between the dentists and dental technicians during the making of prostheses, which raised the quality of our work to the next level.

The prosthetic works made in cooperation between our office and the dental laboratory include:
- full ceramic crowns and bridges made of press ceramics (emax ceramics)
- full ceramic veneers, inlays, onlays and overlays
- metal – ceramic crowns and bridges
- total and partial prostheses
- prostheses with metal base (Wironit prostheses)
- metal crossbars as bases for prostheses
- various types of splints

We make these types of prosthetic works on natural teeth and on implants.

Aesthetic fillings

– they replace a part of the tooth which has been removed due to caries, wearing or other reasons. Such fillings are made of modern composite materials which imitate the natural tooth in terms of colour and transparency. It is possible to replace the majority of the tooth with a filling but in such cases a better option would be to make a prosthetic work in a laboratory. Those works are, starting from smaller ones toward the bigger ones: inlays-onlays, veneers and crowns, and in cases of replacement of several teeth, dental bridges.

Starting from smaller ones, the prosthetic works are:

Inlays

- the smallest prosthetic works, of size of a bigger filling, most commonly made of ceramics, used when instead of a filling we wish to make a work which will offer more in terms of appearance and hardness.

Onlays (and overlays)

– bigger than inlays. They replace an even bigger part of the tooth crown. In these cases, the filling would be too big, raising the possibility of cracking. Apart from that, onlays and overlays produce fantastic aesthetic results. With onlays, the teeth are drilled less than for crowns, so we will suggest them before crowns whenever possible.

Veneers

– minimally invasive prosthetic replacement we most often use when we wish to alter the aesthetics of teeth, primarily front teeth, e.g. incisor front sides. Veneers are used on teeth which do not meet the aesthetic requirements for various reasons; sometimes those aesthetic flaws are related to inadequate fillings, change of colour due to pulp dying, inadequately treated teeth, improper position of the tooth etc.

Crowns

– crowns replace the most of the tooth’s natural crown when the whole or a part of the crown is missing. We will propose the fitting of crowns when we asses that that solution is better than a filling or when it’s the only good solution.

Crowns are made of metal and ceramics or just ceramics.
